Biography​

Alexander was Called to the Bar at Gray's Inn and then trained as a solicitor in a 'Silver Circle' international law firm in the City of London.  He works across various sectors and has advised businesses involved in shipping, fisheries and aquaculture, international trade, construction, manufacturing, and the supply of pharmaceuticals.​  He has particular expertise in cases involving collisions with fishing vessels and the loss of fishing profits.  He also has considerable experience in conducting internal corporate investigations and assisting corporate clients facing investigation by state authorities.​​​​  Alexander is authorised to conduct litigation in the UK Supreme Court, and has conducted litigation in the Admiralty Court, Commercial Court, London Circuit Commercial Court, and Central London County Court.  He has been involved in numerous London arbitrations and is a supporting member of the LMAA.

​Close collaboration with the Bar

Alexander works as an independent freelance solicitor, similar to how English barristers  (freelancers in chambers) operate.  This enables him to offer his clients more flexible fee arrangements and frees him up to focus entirely on legal work and exceptional client service, across a range of different sectors and jurisdictions, particularly Norway and Malta.

While Alexander is independent, he does not work in isolation, and usually instructs hand-picked London barristers at the outset of a case, as an extra resource, especially for written and oral advocacy.  He has found close ad hoc collaboration with the Bar to be more efficient than the typical law firm model of employing and managing a fixed staff.
